We are a proud extension of
your healthcare team!

Our Referral Promise

At Absecon Veterinary Hospital, we are excited to support your hospital and provide emergency care to patients in Atlantic and surrounding counties! We are committed to maintaining the relationships that you have with your clients, and as a result, we have strict policies in place to facilitate referral back to your hospital for continued and ongoing care. We are designed to function as an extension of your primary care facility and hope to build strong relationships among veterinarians in the local community to provide seamless care for our mutual patients.

Our policy is built to ensure that patients will be returned to you for follow-up care and our entire staff is aware of this policy and it will be strictly enforced.

We strongly value your constant input and will incorporate your feedback into policy changes to better serve you and our mutual clients and patients. We believe that the best outcome for our mutual patients can be achieved with collaboration, and we are open to establishing protocols regarding specific needs of your specific hospital regarding communication, transfers back to you for hospitalized patients, etc. In addition, we have a dedicated hotline (609-916-8200) available to you, 8am-close. One of our emergency department team members will answer the phone and provide you with answers to your questions immediately.

Our hospital is not currently open to the public 24/7, but we do have 24/7 nursing care available for your patients that need overnight nursing care. These patients will be returned to your hospital for follow-up care, with a full report including any x-rays and diagnostics that were performed.

Should you have any questions about our referral policies or would like to request additional information please contact us.
