General Practitioner and Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Lauren Korecky grew up in Manalapan, New Jersey. She always had a general love of ocean biology and ecosystems, which ultimately led her to study aquaculture in college. Dr. Korecky took a class focused on fish health and disease, and this class gave her the motivation to become a veterinarian. She attended the University of Rhode Island, where she received an undergraduate degree in aquaculture. During her time at Rhode Island she received the President’s Award of Excellence in the Aquaculture Major. She attended veterinary school at the University of Prince Edward Island: Atlantic Veterinary College.
What Dr. Korecky finds the most satisfying about being a veterinarian is, “being able to work with a wide variety of animal patients.” Her professional interests include exotics/aquatics medicine, surgery, and ultrasound. She is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Korecky lives with her Russian tortoise, Lenny Kravtiz. Some of her hobbies include hiking, kayaking, fishing, skiing, snow shoeing, and ice skating. She also enjoys playing video games, drawing, arts and crafts, reading, and cooking.
